Ok i am debating right now on a 03z400 or an 05 kfx400.. I know there the same bike.. But did they change anything from 03 to 05? like footpeg position? sceat height? stroke? compression anything? also what would you do? 03 for 2800 or 05 for 3200?? thanks

 

If I were you I'd go w/ the '05 for $400 more, UNLESS the '03 is in much better condition. The '05 will have better shocks,simpler chain adjustment,bigger carb.,TPS,& slightly more agressive cams. Otherwise they are the same geometry wise.

 

The frame is also supposed to be stronger also, on the 2005.

 

in the 03's there was a bit of frame trouble....welds cracking...thats if your hittin good sized jumps a lot...


05 and 06 kfx/z/dvx had a clutch cover recall...i just found out about this like 3 weeks ago, my bike is still in the shop getting it replaced...arctic cat nor my dealer called me telling me about the recall...i found out about it on another site and called my dealer and they said it wasnt done yet...that could of been DISASTER for my bike if it wasnt changed, stupid f'n stealerships!!!!

i'd get the 05 kfx though, that recall might have been done already, stronger frame, bigger carb(37mm), dunno if the 05 has the rezzie shocks(06's do) i think they might though....plus green looks better!!

 

go for the 05. better suspension and better frame
