Hey i was just wondering if a z400 stock except for a k&n filter would b able to beat a 400ex with a slip on white brothers pipe

 

any1 know??

 

I've seen these two bikes race.They were both stock. they raced several times and whoever would get the jump off the line is the one who won.I know the magazines say the Z is faster but I just dont think there is that much difference between the two bikes.And I know this will probably start a war but I've never seen much gains from just an aftermarket pipe or a K&N filter.I believe this race wll be a real close one.

I'll let you know after next weekend, doing a day trip to Glamis with my buddy who has a 400EX, Both bikes are stock, I weigh about 80 more # then him so who knows. I will post the results. Drags and hill climbs.

 

Depends on the year of the z400 .........The '05 and up are a good bit quicker than the '03/'04s....

A guy I ride with a lot has a 400ex with pipe and jet kit, mine it totally stock..... We have raced many times and it is pretty even. If anyone wins it is usually by a length or less. But I do weigh quite a bit more than he does.

The K&N alone will provide no real increase on the z400. But with a pipe and kit equal to the 400ex the z400 is quite a bit faster....
