Engine shuts off

Had to jump start my king quad today to plow snow. The problem i am having is every time i try to lift or lower the plow with the winch the engine dies. Any ideas out there what my problem could be?

sounds like you might have a bad battery, if you jump it and it might run ok till you need to put a load on the electical system and then it cant handle it
because it doesnt have enough amps for the winch, thats what I think it could be

I was having the same issue 2 days ago with my 06 Eiger, but would only happen if I continued trying to lift the blade after the wench was all the way in. It was nighttime, so my lights were on and they would dim like crazy as I went in and out on the winch. It's new, so battery should be good. mucky's right..definitely too much electrical load on the weak battery that comes on these. I increased my idle speed a little to accomodate the extra electrical draw and it worked much better...only a few stalls after that.

Thank you for the info. I did run the 4-wheeler for awhile and it seemed liked all was o.k..
