1985 lt250r engine color

I have been told the 1985 and 1986 lt250r motor where not the same..... one was painted blue and the other is not. Mine is blue so which year is it? Any other ways to tell them apart?

They are exactly the same. One year may have been blue, the other natural, but otherwise identical.
