Hey guys, I'm new to atv riding and just got an Eiger 400 4X4 auto 07. I was wondering if I have to get wider wheels in order to put 12 inch width tires on the rear? Also can I put more than 8 inch wide tires on the front? The stock tires are 25-8-12(front) and 25-10-12(Rear). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Alot of people looking for wider widths go with 10-12 in the front and 12-12 in the rear. With that being said I believe your stock rim can accept them widths. the last number is the rim size if I'm not mistaken. First number is tire height, second width and third rim size. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong! The wider the tire in the front the more it will negatively effect your steering. I would stay stock sizes but its all up to you, its your quad. There quite a bit of Eiger owners on these forums, do a search for eiger and tires if you don't yield allot of replies. You can probably see what they prefer on their eigers.

Not sure what type of tires you are looking for but many people like many different kinds. I like my mudlite xl's other prefer swamplites, some bearclaws etc etc etc.

The concensus seems to be 10" on the front, and 12" on the rear. I've seen lots of those sizes on stock rims. I have 27" gators coming in those sizes and I plan onusing stock rims.

 

I would assume the Eiger stock wheels are the same width as the Vinsons.
If true I have BearClaws 26x9x12 front and 26x12x12 rear on my stock wheels. No problem.
