Default Oil In fuel, Need help asap

Well, I expect to be called stupid on this one =0. About 2 weeks ago I went riding with some buddys with my 06 Ozark, Right before we headed out I had got my bottom skid plate, I decided to put it on, got the quad on a flat spot, locked the brake and tipped her up.
Before doing this tho, I reached over the seat and turned the fuel valve to res(or so I thought) got the skid bolted on and loaded it up.
I had noticed after going riding that time, some days it wouldnt turn right over, after a few seconds it would start and run fine, I just shruged it off. Well tonight I went to wash it and noticed the *** was in the "pri" position, Right then I thought f*** I bet ive screwed my motor, I took the dipstick out and sure enough, I could smell gas. I started it right after I smelt the gas and it just chuged and chuged I gave it a little more throttle and it just died, so I changed the oil and decided to head in for the night,(pissed off) im waiting till tommoro to start her up. My point is, Do yall think it damaged the engine, should I be concerned about engine life now, Maybe im just being paronoid, I would just hate to see my new ozark have a blown engine, Thanks for any responces

Well maybe [this is just a guess...] the gas could of just burned up when it went around the spark... and if you maybe change your oil, run it for an hour or so, and change your oil completely [filter and everything] then you should be good to go. I'm not for sure... but it seems like a good plausibility.

Well you cant change the past. Like Baseball said, change your oil. I would also take the spark plug and oil plug out. Let it air out for a couple of days with them out, add new oil and it should be o.k.

Welcome to the forums...If you didn't go hard core riding on the Ozark you should be fine and some of the oil might have ran out of the carb and onto the engine making it seem like there was gas in the oil...There shouldn't be anything to worry about and just make sure you don't put the petcock on pri again because it is for cold starts only and shouldn't be ran using pri...Don't sweet the small things the Ozark has a great powerplant and just ride it and have fun.
