I want to buy an aftermarket pipe and remove the restrictor on my LT80. The studs and nuts that hold the pipe on are very rusty and are going to break off if I try to lossen them. When they break what is the best way to drill them out. Do I need to take head off and/or motor out of frame aw well to get a clear shot with the drill?

Raptor826,

the last time I removed my son's LT80 exhaust to sandblast and repaint, both stud broke off. Luckily, they both broke off at the flange, so after taking the pipe off, almost a quarter inch was sticking out.Soak them with liquid wrench, and apply a little heat, and a vise grip should turn them out. There is a smooth section between the threaded ends, when they break, it is usually at the end of the threads.
Hope that helps.

I had to remove the entire engine because the lower exhaust bolt stripped out. There's no way to get at the lower bolt with a drill without removing everything.

while on this topic, what are some of the best ways to remove the bolts on the exhaust or are there any special tools that work better than a wrench? Its an awful tight fit in there!
