Default After Market Exhaust for an Eiger

Could somebody explain the difference between aftermarket exhaust and a slip on. What would be a good choice for an 03 eiger manual. I am looking for the power gain and not necessarily louder. Is it true that a silent core will decrease your power. I don't mind a bit louder than stock but not to much. I have rejetted already but I have noticed that I will have to rejet once I put on an aftermarket exhaust. I found on ebay HMF slip ons that come with a jet - Is this the way to go or can I use the jet kit I recieved that came with all sorts of sizes?

Thanks in advance

All slip ons are aftermarket, but a full and slip on aftermarket are different. Slip on is just a sliencer and "mid-pipe" not includeing a header. Full is with the whole program, everything, head pipe, mid, silencer. I've heard HMF's are loud but you can get a quite core and they do come with jets. I'd go HMF, but I don't think the Eiger has a whole lot to gain via exhaust. Intake is where the power is.

Thanks for the explanation. The prices I am seeing for about $260 - is that genereally for a slip on then?

You mention that intake is where the power is at. What have you done to your intake? Have you rejetted - What size are running with? Any other ideas that you can let me know to get that little bit extra power. I am thinking of 27 inch tires but want to make sure I am able to make up any loss that happens.

I have one and it helps you should be happy but it is loud, makes it sound like your eiger has a pair, I dont use the quiet core that I bought with it, but have tried it once for a few minutes and it helps.
