Doubtful, the '87+ have a totally different motor and intake tract.

yes it should. they all take the same air filter. the air box from my 85 fit onto my 87. and when I wrecked the frame on the 87 I got a frame from a 90 and it still fit with not problems.

the box is the same, but the intake boot that attaches to the box is a bit different. also the airfilter is a bit different. but it will work fine.
