if you roll the bike or stand it on end to put the plow kit on with position on prime it will fill your crankcase with oil, i did it on my dads 96 ltf 250 . never put your petcock on prime unless your priming it in dead cold to get it started , i had brand new rings at time so i still dont understand how it got there. drained oil couple times and adjusted valves been golden since. if you pull the valve adjustment cap on bottom so the exhaust valve one and crank it over if you have the same problem i had it will spew a gas/oil combo. good luck

that's crazy, i wonder what's up with that. it's gotta be something to do with the valves, valve seals, or something there because it shouldn't get passed the rings. guess that's why i ride a two stroke!! ha ha j/k!! by the way i like your bike 1987LT250 and i noticed your signature says you're workin on a new motor!! i'm gonna be workin on mine this winter, any ideas?? i wanna make my bike pretty original like, and keep the same motor just built. it runs pretty strong now but i wanna beat my friends banshee with it!! i kinda wanted to build a 500r zilla motor for it too though so we'll see!!

UTAH DUNE RIDER ,The answer to your question have i ran it at all is no,not sice i noticed problem. And i looked at oil level again today and it is still fine.Only way i noticed it at all was i put new tires on it and noticed oil level was out of site,I then changed oil and smelled gas in it,engine runs good in every gear no noises or any smoke at all,my wife as i said before ran it outta gas that day and put gas selecter on pri position and drove it back home,Thats where i stand today. Thanks again for any more comments ya,ll can come up with. Thanks,Paul

I would just run it and after riding it for a little bit I would check to see if you have any oil/gas mixture, but as long as you keep the quad off of pri unless you are needing a start like i the winter time or when it is difficult to start you should be fine...That is the only time I needed to use pri on my Ozark...Just ride it and if the problem persists I would take the carb apart and check it out, but if it was left on pri while driving it I would imagine that is your problem.
