Does anybody happen to know the horsepower on a 2000 quadmaster 500? I can't seem to find that kind of information anywhere.

 

I think that it is somewhere between 17-20.

 

It should be on the title of the machine. If I remember correctly it is 32 horsepower. I also found a webpage that listed the horsepower and torque of a number of different machines. The 493cc Suzuki engine was at near the top of both catogories. It was top in the torque. I think the grizzly took the top honors of the horsepower ratings. I'll see if I can find the web page and post it.

 

I have a 98 and on the title it will list the HP rating. Mine says 29. I'm sure the 2000 is very close.

 

i have a 2000 quadrunner and it has 28 and i would say that they are the same

 

I'm not sure... I'm confused now, I heard from somebody that the 500cc suzuki's were running around 30-35... I was just figuring that since mine is only 26-28hp, and it is a 300.

i have an arctic cat 500, and as you know it has a 493cc suzuki engine. the manufacturer's statement of origin (mso) stated that it had a hp rating of 29.5. but i have heard from ac riders that the ac has just a tad more power than a suzuki 500--stemming from a higher compression ratio.
i was a bit surprised to learn that arctic cat had a suzuki engine, but, in a way, i feel good because it is a tried and tested engine unlike polaris engines which are made by polaris with a few FUJI parts.
