Who has Vinson shocks on an Eiger?
#1
Hey all,
I know there were a few posts floating around about putting Vinson shocks on an Eiger.
I'm interested in this since I have a winch on the front of my Eiger and the stock shocks bottom out more than I'd like. However, rather than trying to hunt down shocks that will fit on the back and since I have no problem with the handling of the back shocks...
Why not just put a lift in the back to match the gain in height from the Vinson shocks in front? Any opinions on this?
Thanks

The guy Aksafari, was the only one here I think that had that done. I solved the prob another way on my eiger. I had installed a 2" lift kit on the front and back and of course the front sagged again. And that was the only thing I hated about my eiger how the front was always down. So I fabbed a set of 3" to 4" lifts for the front and now the thing sits proud, the way it should. Look at my pics. I guess either shocks or lift will do, the key is to get the front up higher

This is an old thread but I recently looked it up to get some info and wanted to post my results.
I just put 4 Vinson Shocks on my 04 Eiger. I was able to find used ones on eBay for $50 per pair. I have riden about 20 miles so far. The improvement is great. It gave me about a 1 1/2 in lift. I was focused on the front and the sag in the front end. It has fixed that and now handles the bumps much better. I took it to a sand pit and rode in some whoops, that I usually avoid all together. It is not as fun as my sport quad but at least it made it through the whoops. It handled small jumps that I have regularly bottomed out on in the past. My primary goal was to handle the bumps at speed better and this has done it. I also think it will help with plowing this winter, supporting the extra weight of the plow.
It was a very easy installation, they bolted right on.
I am noticing a different noise from the drive shaft, as a result of the new angle, but it does not seem like a problem, just different. I am watching that but I think it was a good upgrade and relatively cheap.
