I am thinking about getting one of these, and wanted to see if there are any inputs on this machine. I had a 04 sportsman 500 and now I'm switching to something else. How do they compare and are they any good? Thanks.

 

I have a 2003 Vinson Manual with 3000 miles/280 hours on rocky mining roads and have never had a problem yet. It has a but load of low end torque and also goes 64MPH. It has high and low range in both forward and reverse. Almost all quads now only have one range in reverse which is usually geared too high. The only thing I wish it had is a front diff lock. The limited slip works fine except when one tire leaves the ground.

 

This one is an automatic, good to here that you haven't had any problems. Sounds like you probably put it to the test where you live too. This one is a new old stock one so I will have a warranty with it.

I have two 05 manuals and they are good bikes. Plenty of aftermarket goodies for them also. How much for a new 03?

 

I bought it for 5000.00 OTD. I really like the power and handling so far. It is the yellow one, sure stands out.

 

It should last you a long time if you break it in right, change oil often, and keep the air filter clean.
