Who is running these on their Z400 and how do you like them? Are they reliable? How much of a difference did it make? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I meant Athena. I have seen some advertized as 453, I would love to throw that on my 400.

go with 440, 453 does not have much more and a friend in my riding group has had both and swears by the 440

i know there is one site that advertises a big bore kit for the kfx dvx and z 400 to be bored all the way up to a 510 and i think there is a 450sumtin kit on there too but thye sell stealth and ice box and sum other kind of bore kits but they seem to look pretty good but i don't think a 510 would be a good way to go unless u wanted to rebuild alot i don't see how it would be stable enough to last more than a few hours of hard ridein thats way over the stock bore

Well adding the cc's will help a little. It's all the other go fast stuff that helps also.. The main thing is the Athena jug holds 50% more coolant then a stock jug..

ive never heard of a 453 kit but then again ive been working on my rail instead of the quad, my 470 was from tudors performance, but I blew it up a couple months ago so had to go back to my 440 till I get a new sleeve for the 470, athena has a good kit from what i here. check out tudorsperformance.com they have a 536 stroker kit that is big money

My bro owns two Yoshi z450's. IMO that is a better set up then our Athena. Our Athena revs really well. They are all built by DAB. The Yoshi kits are pricey and their porting sucks according to my builder who flowed the Yoshi head on a flowbench.. I've ridden a 510 Lukes Racing Z. Our DAB Yoshi would blitz that thing.. The Athena does have the more cooling the Yoshi can't get though.. Both the Yoshi and Athena set ups are rock solid on reliabilty w/ over 200hrs ea w/ just new rings is all.. We are gonna replace the valve springs and seals and put in a new liner and piston. Our DRZ springs got to be losing some tension by now. Better to be safe then sorry..
