Default 1986 Suzuki Quadsport 230 fix up

Hello

I'm 15 years old and I plan on buying a 1986 Suzuki quadsport 230 tomorrow. The bike has not been ridden very much (It still has the stock tires and they are in good condition.) The bike runs and has somewhere around 50 hours on it. I grew up on a Yamaha Raptor 80 and I have been riding my fathers suzuki quadsport 400.

I need some help. I want to get this bike into the best running condition that I can. Can anyone suggest necessary pieces to look at/replace? Maybe ones that could be damamged from sitting in a garage for 20 years? I was told to take a look at the swingarm bearings and I will do that and if needed I will replace those. I get all the help I need from my father who has grown up on four wheelers.

Thank you

Mike, I just rebuilt at 87 that was also not used in a couple years. I would check the bearings, and also clean out the carb if it has been sitting. Mine had a smoking problem so I had the head reground with new valves( the seals were bad) and replaced the piston. The bike starst on 1st kick and no more smoke.

check the brakes, change the timing chain, clean the carb, wheel bearings, shock bushings, and charging system.
