New KingQuad 700 question need advice
#1
just bought one. What should I watch out for and what general advise should I follow about this quad. Any quirks or "Be sure to's" I need to know about? I have a 2500 lbs Warn 2.5Ci wench on it. Care instructions or best practices?
My brother inlaw has a 07 Yama Grizzly. It compare very well to it. lol I even had to pull him out of a creek yesterday on my first ride on the King. So I know the winch works. To bad I did not have a camera.
Anyway, let your expierence and advise flow.

Don't ride anymore until you replace your paper air filter with a Uni or Twin Air one. It's junk. It allows too much unfiltered air into the engine and will eat you rings. If you want to stay all Suzuki, have your dealer sell you a Suzuki Red Line air filter for the King. Some riders have used them with success, but most switch because a paper filter comes apart when it gets wet. And if you want to run K&N, run an Outerwears pre filter, they allow in dirt as bad as the stock one. You can check for dirt by removing the filter and looking at the intake butterfly. If you have dirt on it, your filter is flunking out. Dirty intake, dirty air, dirty air; bye bye rings.

Take the suspension points apart (except the front lower A-arms. Leave those alone) and grease the heck out of them. The nylon bushings are good but Suzuki (believing them to be 'self lubricating') sends them out dry or nearly dry and if not greased and water gets in they can wear rapidly, requiring expensive replacement.
Just take the one-each-side front upper king pins out and the five-each-side rear king pins out and slather grease all over them.
Then they will last a long long time and work smoothly.
