btw cataway why do you have a winch on a sport quad?

 

i do if its a trail ride , not for sand . its a very handy device , seams like its all ways getting used. 4 bolts is all that holds it on so on and off is no problem.

 

Why would you worry about if you can beat it stock for stock if you have a modified Z? Isn't it fun for a stock looking Z to put it on a predator? I enjoy the look on peoples faces when I smoke em with my stock lookin kfx400. To me its no fun to go buy a 450+cc bike and outrun someone. Who cares. Makin a slow bike outrun 450's, raptors, predators, still look stock, and still reliable......now thats what I call fun....so stop bashing...to each their own!

 

i raced a 07 pred this weekend and my quad with my brother riding the pred he won we are a bout the same in skill however my friend (owner of the pred) raced me and i won. so just b/c its drag racing if you are good rider and the other is so so or not experianced you have a chance but don't count on it. i agree with ltzguy on his theory of having the stock looking 400 beating the nice and new 450's - raptors.

 

K&N and pipe not likely. Your setup is like mine and my buddies stock pred can beat me in drag we are about the same weight

 

im with ltzguy......instead of jumping on the 450 bandwagon i got a pred.....who said a polaris cant be fast???? its only a POLARIS!!!!LOL

Well, my DVX will beat raptors and TRX's and ltr's, all stock. yfz pulls away though.
And these guys I'm racing aren't bad riders. they've been quadding for like 6 years and are extremely good at it.

 

i have a z400 with a 463 big bore kit from four stroke tech, head work by mickey dunlap, sparks cams...hd valve springs & clutch, yfz fcr carb and sparks pipe.

this bike runs. one problem...all of my friends have 4x4 bikes. im not sure how fast it is. i have big problems with keeping the front end down, i raced one bike. a friend has a kfx 700, always talking big ****, calls his bike the beast. well.....i spanked that a$$, im telling you it wasnt even close, my z just keep pulling away more & more. it pulls so hard. now i have somebody at work talking crap about his predator, its piped & jetted. i wonder if i could take him???

 

I went to the dunes and raced 3 yfz's and beat them all. they were not stock either. The only 450r's that could outrun me were stretched/lowered, with built engines. i outran every craptor I came across. I raced two banshees that were piped, jetted, aftermarket head on one, and carbon fiber reeds. Beat em both. My buddy has a 488cc 450r, 6" swinger, stripped down drag bike...he could beat me 1-1.5 bikes. A completely stock kfx450r I beat about 8-10 bike lengths. Everyone i raced had better paddles than me. I run 7 paddle 22" haulers.
