z400 vs predator
#65
After I got rid of my Ozark and had my new Honda CRF450x for a while I was wanting another quad with more performance, a reverse gear , and good trail handling. I almost bought a used Predator but after researching it and looking over the bike closely new and used, I realized that it was not what I was looking for. Although it out powers the Z400 it is much heavier and the suspension is not nearly as good or as adjustable. And although it would beat a Z400 on a strain flat gravel road, a Z400 will leaving it in the dust in any kind of difficulty rated trails or terrain as the Predator is a tank with no agility or nimbleness which is a key ingredient for fun. Yet at the same time being a sport quad with a seemingly more powerful motor, the Predator is no competition on the straits, track or trails against a TRX450x, not even close, which is why when doing a comparison the Predator has to try and match up against a much smaller quad like the Z400 instead of its own engine class.

i have a z400 and i dont have much done to it. cdi box old fmf pipe jetted with my air filter lid off. and to be honest my quad does pretty well but i dont care how fast your bike is if you cant drive it good almost any good rider out there can beat you. especially up a hill like olds. or free way will. i mean i have beaten banshee almost every 450 out there just because they didnt no how to ride. they cant get over the whoops. in a straitline on flat ground doesnt mean anything. i mean you might as well sell your quad and by little car. cuz racing on flat ground in a strait line with a quad is like pissin into the wind. its not fun. just my 2 cents
