MY quad is in the shop right now need new carburetor, they r puttng on a new Eldebrock 38mm flatside on it, anyone tried this on their z? im curious to if i should remove my air box completly to make a diference since i had the lid off with the stock carburetor and it was just jetted. also how much of a difference is it with the airbox completly removed?

You should definetly put an aluminum air on in place of a stock. My friend has the same mdel and year as you and I and his is badass! He has the Edelbrock carb w/ a "UM" aluminum airbox and K&N air filter w/ outerwears which he can "if he wants the extra boost" run open air box. He said when he runs the open airbox configuration he has to put the outerwears sock on or the carb gets too much air.

yeah im going to have an outerware, and its going to be jetted for no airbox, ill just have to keep it clean, but thats not a prob. but it was running compared to a z400 with just a pipe and jet kit with no airlid?
