It shouldn't cause slipping clutch if it's the right oil , i had a 93' 300KQ 300 and for the engine and tranny share's the same oil ( it's called a wet sump ; meaning the engine and tranny share's the same oil ! For the engine/tranny oil i used castrol GTX 10w40 in winter and 20w50 in winter , but oil's have changed since the late 70's and early and late 80's ! I still use the old castrol oil and it won't hurt your clutch as long as it has the API rating of SG on the back of the oil bottle , in fact i still use it in my 2006 Arctic Cat 400 FIS Auto 4x4 ; i asked my Dealer if i could still use the same oil i used in my old 86' Honda TRX350 FM full time 4WD and they told me it would fine so that's what i use fot the cat also ! I sold the 86' Honda to my brother in November 2005 and i sold him the Suzuki one week after i got the Cat , and both the Honda and Suzuki still run as good as they did when i first got them using the same oil as alway's ; the Honda never had to ajust the clutch to this day ! But after about 3 or 4 month's brother had to ajust clutch on the Suzuki because i always let my cousin ride the Suzuki when we rode together he had a week foot and the Suzuki had that slack gap in the sub transmission that made it hard to change gear's unless you catch it in the right RPM range ! And he could never get used to it , so he would start out in 3rd or 4th gear so that if anything is what caused my brother to ajust the clutch on it ! On the Suzuki being stuck in the 4x4 rang it's the shift linkage need adjusted my cousin has a 89' model it got to getiing hard the shift and it was the linkage i had to adjust them they are not rod's but cable's that have locknut's to losen for ajustment , and about the Yamalube do you mean thet you use it in the engine or in the front and rear diffrencial's ; if so you need to drain it out and use 80w90 Hipoid gear oil in the diff's ! That's most likely the case here , and if you want to fix it yourself you will need a good Service and repair shop manual to fix and ajust shift linkage's to get them right ; i alway's tell anyone who buy's a new are used ATV to get a good shop manual it's the best investment you can make for you quad it will pay for itself with the first serving and tune done at a Dealer's shop ! I hope this is of some help to you ; and good luck getting it right agin ! .......................

To ajust the clutch you will have to remove the right rear tire/wheel and threaded plug in right side crank case cover to expose the ajuster screw and locknut and turn ajusterscrew clockwise untill internal resistance is felt. Then rotate the screw counterclockwise 1/8 of an inch and retain/hold ajusting screw while tighting the locknut , this in from my Intertec ATV Maintenance Manual 2nd edition ; i sold my 93' Suzuki 300 LTF4WD to my brother he had to ajust the clutch on it ! The reason he had to ajust the clutch on it was because i let my cousin ride the Suzuki when we went riding , he had a weak foot and and would ride it in to high of a gear when taking off ; and when i sold the Suzuki to my brother his wife did the same ! So that's one reason it had to be ajusted , the manual states that the clutch should be ajusted after the first month or 100 miles and every six month's or 1200 mile's from there ; the manual call's for a quailty 10w40 motor oil with an API classification of SE or SF in the engine/tranny sump ! But i use the old Castrol GTX 10w40 in winter and 20w50 in summer with the API classification of SG you can till find it at most of the big chain auto parts stores like auto zone and O'Reillys auto parts stores ! The front differential oil shoud be checked after the first month or 100 mile's , and every six month's or 1200 mile's and the differential oil should be changed on a yearly basis. Recommended lubicant should be a good quality SAE 90 Hypoid gear oil , if the diff oil wasn't changed like recommended this could be the partly the cause of the gear's being stuck in the 4wd mode ; and this would require a tear down to clean out any old hardened oil and the gear's cleaned and checked for wear an replacement if need be ! This manual doesn't cover this procedjure , that's about all this manual cover's because it cover's Honda , Suzuki , Kawasaki , Yamaha and Polaris atv's ; not enough pages in the manual to cover all repair's what you need is a good shop manual that cover's your year make and model ! You might find one on ebay , if you can't find one on ebay you will have to get it from a Dealer ; i've rebuilt transaxle's on some pretty big comerical garden tracktor's with out a manual but i watched what i was doing very carfully ! Well i hope this help's and if you have video camera , or a digtal camera and take picture's of the proccess of your work you might get by without a manual ! .........................
