i ride the creek, trail ride, mud ride and sand drag. it does all pretty well except i need to get some mud tires (can't bring my self to do it tho....it would look silly).... i get stuck sometimes, but the bike is light so i just pick it up and move it.

I ride 70% XC and some MX. The woods here are pretty technical and require lots of low end grunt. I'm riding a 440 set up with a 40mm fcr; 13:1; CT porting and full sonic exhaust; Big Gun high rev cdi on 22s with a 13/40 combo. The Webs are pretty big and make mega power...but mostly mid to top. My max torque hits at 6500 and max hp at 8200. I am considering Old Style Hot Cams as an alternative to bring the power band to the lower rpm. ltzguy, how are you making so much low rev power with those Webs? I know that your 12 up front must help a lot with pull but you must have about also lost 1st.

Any recommendations for best cam set up for my deal??

I dunno, I know if the head is not ported correctly, you will lose low end. I have not lost any bottom compared to stock. If my bike wasn't lowered and stretched, it will easily pull the front up at just about any rpm. I know exhaust has alot to do with torque. You need to lose the procom cdi and get a dyna. I have 3 programmable procoms, every one run differently on the same curve. I have two of the none programmable ones and they both run different, and one of the Hi-rev boxes and its diff too. They sent me a bunch of different ones to try because I was having problems with them. The stock cdi pulls harder until it hit the limiter. Now I have the programmable dyna with the programming kit. I haven't tried it yeat because my bike is apart right now. I just looked up your cams, your exhaust cam is HUGE. That would explain the loss of bottom. You don't need that much of a split on a naturally aspirated motor. That combo would work good for nitrous. You need to go with the 540 grind on the exhaust. I think you would like that much better. I can still use 1st gear, think about it: I raised the rev limiter and i'm using 22" tires. 1st gear with the stock limiterwith the 14t front, 20" stock tires at 9500 rpm it will go 26.35 mph, with a 12t, 22" tires, 11,500 rev limit...it will go 30.06. top speed with the 12t, 22" tires, 11500 rpm limit would be 90.18 mph on the limiter ( if it would pull it). Top speed stock would be 79.06 on the limiter. hmmmmmm....what was that again??lol go to the web site and you can calculate your mph. http://home.earthlink.net/~gellett/ltz400.htm just copy and paste. let me know what you think...
