Default Wheel Spacers

I've been debating over getting wheel spacers for my z400. The spacers that I want are UM spacers. I can't seem to find much about the pros and cons to wheel spacers. Does anyone have insight...good or bad?

Depends on how you ride. Big jumps and rough riding w/spacers increased leverage on the axel and cause it to bend easier. But then you can toss the spacers and get a new wider axel.

Do a search on wheel spacers and you'll find this topic discussed about a bazillion times....

I rarely ever jump and I mostly ride the dunes and dirt roads. I found a lot of links online about wheel spacers for cars but not much for quads. I'll look into it again. Thanks for your help.

Wider in the Sand - that's good.
Wider on the trails - around here trails are too tight so that would be bad.
Good news is if you do use spacers, you can always take them off if the trails are too tight!

If you ride in open areas, I think you will love the spacers... well, not the spacers, but the feel you get with the extra width.
And like someone else said... they come off if you want to do other riding... wider axles and A-arms... more involved.

In any event, I came over here thinking about the 400, and wondering if anyone has figured out how to run this bike with a lot of sag?
What I mean is, a much lower ride height for better handling, without sacrificing ability.
No real loss of suspension travel... you're just not riding full above it when you don't need it.

Like long travel suspension they put on baja stuff sort of...

I put a set on my Z, damn thing wouldn't fit in the trailer
This is the set...These
Going to a +2 +4 axle during this winter's tear down though.
Let me know if you want before and after pics of the spacers.

There aren't too many narrow trails around here...or at least in the area that I ride. I shouldn't have to worry about that. Ideally, I would love to extend the a-arms and the axle but that's more of a long term project.

You guys bring up a good point...they are removable so I can use them when I want and take the off when I don't.

Before and After pics would be awesome! The spacers I was looking at are UM and they would add 2.5" to each side on the rear and 1.5" to each side on the front.
