I own a 03 z400 and was wondering what everyone preferred to use for motor oil. I have been using coastrol 10-40 four stroke oil but it seems my bike chews it up only after a few rides (not sure if thats normal). And also i noticed that my fan wasnt running after i spent 15 minutes riding the other day. Normally the fan runs for a minute after the bike shuts off. Should i be worried?? thanks.

 

I use 10w 20 i think castrol. 4 stroke oil

And my fan hardly ever runs. The only time it ever comes on is when I'm going slow in the woods, in the heat. I also run Engine Ice coolant, and they do make some claims about running cooler. But even still, I've ridden with other z400s and their fans don't come on very often either.

 

sounds good ill try it.

 

ur fan will come on depending on how hard ur riding. if ur revvin it out its bound to come on esp. on hot days.

 

I use Belray thumper 20w50 semi syn. been using it for almost 4 years and never had a problem with the oil
