Default Help - lost shift **** on Eiger

I got back from riding today and the shift **** (gear selector lever) on my 2005 Eiger is missing. It's also missing the detent rod (item 9 on the link) that connects to the **** and fits into the shaft. I can order replacements online but, if I look down inside the shaft I can't figure out what the detent rod connects to in the shaft. Anyone know?

The detent rod just locks it in gear I believe. I'm not entirely sure, but this will put you on the front page again.

Default Help - lost shift **** on Eiger

I ended up going to the dealer and ordering the parts and asked them about it. The mechanic was at lunch, but the parts guy said he said he "thinks" it doesn't attach to anything, it just keeps the shifter **** at the correct height. I guess I'll see when the parts arrive

Thanks for the help!

Hey was lookin at the pics of your eiger, and was wondering how those 26in tires changed the eigers power, steering, stability, etc. I was thinking of getting a setup like yours and was curious.

Thanks

There is a slight loss of power, but it is really worth the upgrade. I can go places now in 2 wheel drive that I couldn't go in 4 wheel drive before. As far as driveability, the only thing I have noticed is that I can't do donuts as easy with these tires as the stock ones. Stability wise nothing has changed either. I think since the Eiger sits low to begin with it won't affect it unless you install a lift kit.

Highly recommend the upgrade!

Thanks for the info. Theres a tire and wheel combo exactly like yours on ebay for 479.00 plus 85.00 shipping. I think thats a pretty good deal and im seriously considering buying them.

I bought mine off EBAY also. I think I paid like $565 total or something. Worked out very well!

I agree with lfugate, the 26s are well worth it. There are more than enough upgrades you can do that will more than make up for any power you may lose.
