Default LTZ50 problems HELP

Got a 2006 ltz50 and always ran fine till went to let the kids ride it the other day and it wont move starts fine idles fine .give it a little gas or alot and it just cuts in and out till you let off the gas and idels just fine. ACTS like the rev limiter has ben set at like 500 rpm. I cleaned the air filter changed the spark plug and even took the carb off and blew it out oh and also tried a different coil. none of this made a bit of difference . What could this be the crank pick-up or the cdi? All the wireing is clean and like new . Do cdi's go out that often on these ? I hate to take it to the dealer they charge like $80 an hour just to look at it.

no choke on but runs same with it on or off except it dies when you let off the gas with it on.

Did you clean the jets? CDi could go out. I would check all the connectors and make sure they are tight and no debris is in them. 500rpm? The standard idle should be between 1100-1900rpm. Does it rev just barely above idle before it cuts out or does it cutout a second or so with it wide open throttle?

Hi, its the switch on the brake lever. It stops the bike over revving and damaging the clutch / belt if you have forgotten to release it after starting.

Either you have disconnected it to aid starting or it is stuck / broken.

Good luck !

first thing i checked was the carb jets then plugs conectors , when you hit the throttle it revs up maybe 5 0r 6 hundred rpm then cuts in and out continuously till you let off the throttle like when the brake is on to start it but a little higher rpm than that will let it go.

Tonight i just took the plug out to look at the spark to see if it is consistant and it is not it will spark good for a few seconds good then stop for some time before sparking again like a fouled plug almost but worse and yes ive tried different plugs so would this be the cdi or the crank sensor? any way check them? I tried a different coil with no change so it has got to be one of these.

Moparman7, You need to get a service manual for that. Or if you are lucky , somebody on this forum will setup to get you the values on the cdi or pulse coil. You will need to start by checking resistance at the cdi , but since I have no idea what the values are , I can't help you. sorry
