Hello this is my first post so forgive me if it is not perfect , let me start by saying i have 2007 z400. i was riding on train tracks when i rock apparently got into my front brake assembly and did some damage , the main thing is that it bent my rotor, so i replaced the rotors. and now i do not have sufficient brake pressure to stop the quad. i have depressed the calipers and bled the front brakes and its the same result time and time again. i have enough brake pressure to slow it down over a long distance but not enough to stop it. the rear brakes work fine. if any one can give me advice or help on this i wud greatly appreciate it because it breaks my heart to have to pay the local dealer 100$ to just take a loook at the quad. thank you for any help u can give i appreciate it.

 

How did the pads look when you took them out? Perhaps one is cracked?

Were the rotors pre-machined or did they need to be scuffed up?

When you say pressure, do you mean that the level has a solid feeling and the quad is just not stopping? Or do you mean that the level is soft?

 

when u squeeze the brake lever it doesnt feel stiff like it should be. the brake pads were fine and i beleive the rotors were pre - machined, but i also had the same "soft feeling" brakes before i changed the rotors i just thought that since my rotor was bent that if i replaced it my brakes would return to normal and that is not the case

 

not sure....assuming you used the right fluid.......

Only thing I can think of is that there is some air still in the system, or maybe a small pinhole where pressure is getting out....
