*****Aluminum framed 500cc 4stroke for 2002***
#1
The Suzuki rep was in today!!!
My good friend just called who works at the local Suzuki dealer and told me that the rep for Suzuki was just in and was able to confirm that Suzuki did have a new sport quad that would be manufactored in some new plant here in the US. The only details he had was that it is a 500cc 4stroke with an aluminum frame!!!!! He also said that everything about this quad was new from the ground up!
I'm sure most of you may not believe me. I have nothing to gain from wasting my time posting this. I'm sure now that its this far out we will read about it very soon, at that time I'll be back to say "I told you so"
I just hope it's good enough to pull me off my Honda. With an aluuminum frame things could start to get very intreasting in the sport quad world!!!!!!!

I heard somewhere that it was gonna be the DRZ motor too, but I was talkin with the dealer and they said they were gonna boost the CC's in the DRZ motor like Yamaha did in the YZ426. But they were gonna add somewhere in the vicinity of like 50 cc's. If so, that should easily put the Suzi ahead of the 400 ex(lax) and below the over bored Raptor.

alright now heres the deal.Suzuki and arctic cat are sharing engines(always have) and arctic cat will come out with a 400 4 stroke pure sport.and so will suzuki.but i wouldn't doubt them making it to a 500 but they are starting out with a 400 in testing.i think SOME of the frame will be aluminum such as the rear subframe

The DRZ is already far ahead of the Honda. More power, quicker revvs and lighter weight. Plus, Yoshimura makes high revv kits and fully Titanium exhaust (header and canister). They make 500 cc kits and just about everything else for the engine already!

I think bermbanger is onto something. The rear subframe may be aluminum but that will be it. I also believe they will use a variation of the DRZ 400 motor. I doubt the new Suzuki will be revolutionary in any way. I wonder what it will be called, quadracer or quadsport?

Did you guys not read the news release about new suzuki models? check out the story on this web site about the new suzuki plant...This sounds like an actual press release to me...Here's a quote:
The new manufacturing facility is only one example of this strong commitment. In addition, Suzuki will introduce three new ATV models in the U.S. in the first half of 2001: the LT-A50, the LT-A400F and the LT-A400 and another four new models later in the year...........
HELLOOOOOOO! Doesnt this say something?
