how much water is to much

Default how much water is to much

i have an 88 lt230 and i was just wondering how much
water/mud it can take before stuff starts getting messed
up ( i do not have a snorkle)

Like all ATVs anything aboves its intakes. The higher the intakes ,Diff vent lines ,air box intake, and belt air intake (if belt drive). Water can also get into motor by the pipe if you let off to much gas on a deep crossing.

the one for the 230 is the black box under the seat

biggest prob people have that play in water and mud is they dont change their oil, gear lube, or clean their motor and radiator afterwards. its fun to play, not so much fun cleaning it.

Thats the air box, but it's intake tube from it runs higher does'nt?

yes, but the air box isnt 100% water tight, there are a couple small holes in it to drain the water out. it actually draws in the air through the frame tube. i still dont recommend driving trhough water that deep, if you do i would change out the oil
