Default 1987 quadracer 250r

There is a guy locally selling an adertised 1987 quadracer 250r. I did some searching on this website, and I think I discovered that all of the 250r's were 2-strokes. Am I correct in this assumption?

The guy selling the quad told me its a 4-stroke, even though he told me its an 87 quadracer 250r. I am thinking if its really a 4-stroke, then it would be an 87 quadsport 230. Which I have read are also nice bikes, but I want to get my facts correct before I offer any money for the quad. Thank you for any and all help.

Andy

If it is actually a quadracer it is a 2 stroke. all quadracer Lt250r's are 2 stroke. I don't believe that suzuki made a 250 4 stroke back then. so if it is indeed a 4 stroke it is probally 230.

Ok, I was told it is a 1987 250r. So I assume that is one of the years they made the 250 4-stroke? Thanks again

just check if it has a 2 stroke pipe/expansion chamber- if it does, than it is a 2 stroke

ya the easyest way to tell is just to look at the pipe header on a 2-stroke it will be alot bigger than a 4-stroke.

If the jug has finns, it's a 4-stroke.
