I just purchased three LT 230 Quads. Two run great and are very nice, the third is extremely clean but hasn't run in a couple years. I was told the crank is no good. It is a complete bike and I want to make it run, anyone have a idea what I might expect to spend to make it run? I am building this one for myself, so it has to be faster than the other two my boys ride.

Also, does anyone have any suggestions were I might find nerf bars for these?

DG had some nerfs in stock for the older Quadracers not that long ago. You might want to check them out just in case. I wonder if those Pro-Armor footpeg maximizers might fit too. Sometimes I miss my little sport. Kind of can't wait for my son to be big enough to handle the new 250 Raptor....

we rebuilt our top end on ours. i dont know how much your going to spend but we really didnt spent much over 700 and thats with a dg exhaust 150$ wiseco piston85$ and megacycle cam 100$ hardfaced. valves were only 15$ a piece 80$ for the con rod. thats only like 450$ for the motor and the other couple hunderd went towards tires and cosmetic stuff. with those motor parts she hauls pretty good

It is the stage 1 and its a good over all cam. Puts out good bottom end and mid range. We put this on after we had it rebuilt and noticed a pretty good gain over the stocker

So you replace JUST the cam and noticed a good gain?

I've screwed around with software simulations until I couldn't take it anymore..... The megacycle was the only cam to produce a decent gain across the curve consisently over stock. The webcams stage 1 produced slight gains over stock "sometimes" and the stage 2 never did beat stock. I tried n tired to make it beat stock.... And hotcams seems to have a misprint and the guys that sell it don't know enough about it to give me any info, so I can't simulate it, but I have a good hunch that its the same as a stock cam (with a bit more lift).

The only thing I didn't like about the megacycle stage 1 is the monsterous lift for a stage 1 cam. What did you do for springs? I've heard that any lift over .280 is a waste and just beats up the valve train for no reason.... If not for that, I would have already bought the cam n tried it.

Btw, are you using the stock carb? I think you would be pretty impressed with a 28mm flatslide! I noticed a big gain just adding that... Much more power on the top end!
