Two-Strokes respond very well to porting. If you already have a good pipe and silencer then I would have some porting done to your particular riding style. Get a COOL HEAD! They work great and you can get a high-compression dome. Also if your motor is breathing good, get a new carburetor. The LT250R likes a 38-39mm carb. If your not in the mud, run a K@N off the back off the carb with a filter skin. Then if your good with motors its curcial that you tune the carb for maxium power. Take it to a dyno to see where the flat spots are in the power curve. Then fatten or lean out where needed. Run a synthetic 2-stroke oil at 50:1. If your still craving more power, go for more cc's. Dont forget speed is worthless unless it can get to the ground. Longer axle, A-arms and some good suspenders like Works or Ohlins. Good luck with your QuadRacer.
As far as price goes
Drop Rick at Macdissys an e-mail. The 370 Long Rod conversion is barley over a grand, that's Overbore, piston & ring replacement, porting, head mods, (alll times 2 being a twin) crank mods, bearings, seals, gaskets, ect...
Tommy's 2 cents
Hope this helps
