Default 1998 King Quad question

Have a 1998 king quad.
I had adjusted the rear brake cable last week and used it to plow snow, then used it around the yard a few times, then left it parked outside for a few days.
When I went to move it, the right rear wheel was stuck. Thinking it was just the brake shoe stuck, I gave it throttle and it let loose alright. It snapped the axle shaft.
So anyway, now it's in my garage with the wheel off, I realease the cable and it looks like the brake arm is releasing.
I'm going to try and get the drum apart. I've never taken a quad apart before.

I guess once I do get it apart. Does anyone know if to replace this axle, can it jus tbe removed from the transmission like a front wheel drive car can be, just by pulling on it ?

I'm off now to see if the shop can order me a repair manual.

I just hope it doesn't snow anytime soon. I was thinking that if I could get the wheel free, I could still drive the quad til the axle came in.

What do you think ?
Thanks,
Nick

Default 1998 King Quad question

Well, it warmed up today and it turns out that I have ice/water/maybe snow inside the brake drum.
So mu plan was to replace the seal and the two o-rings in the brake drum area. I don't know how i got ice in there. I only plowed like 2 inches of snow.
