Default Eiger 400 4x4 question

Hi I just got a 2003 Eiger 400 4x4 automatic, just traded it for a truck, are there any known problems with these particular machines.
Thanks in advance.

I have a 2003 with 600 plus miles on it. No problems to speak of, the only issue is the brake pedal sticks in place. Soon to be repaired.

About the only common issue is that many have had small pieces of plastic in the fuel system get caught up in the carb. Easy solution is to install an in-line fuel filter. I've had mine since '02 and it has just under 3,000 miles on it. Mine never had the fuel problem so I've never done the filter mod. Other than a loose nut on the autoclutch that made a strange noise when I first got it, I haven't had any issues that weren't just a maintenance thing. The Eiger is about as solid and reliable a bike as there is out there.

There are only two common issues that I've heard of. The first is that the older models have an issue with the fuel petcock on the bottom of the gas tank, which I believe was a recall. The other is a tendency for crud to get in the carburetor via the vent tube that runs up under the seat. This happened to me, but it was as simple as putting a piece of cloth over the end of the vent tube.

Good solid machine. All good advice. One other thing I've heard is the fan switch cutting out.

I have an '02 manual. 1500 miles on it. Never have had a single problem with it.
One of the best machine for the money.
