2008 ltr 450 running 110 octane why???

Default 2008 ltr 450 running 110 octane why???

this 450 has a yosh full system cherry bomb lowered with some smaller carbon fiber wheels and maybe some more . im wondering if its not nitrous then why run 110 ????? is it something to do with the cherry bomb or does it pick up power like alcohol ????


im asking caused he raced my ds tonight on 110 but ran pump gas earlier this week when running other people.... thanks

He is wasting his money running that high of octane. Unless his compresssion is extremely high. Thats the only reason. The lower the octane the faster the fuel burns, but the high heat of higher compression would make the engine ping with low octane fuel. Always run the lowest octane fuel you can without pinging. Some people try to compensate for poor igniton timing with higher octane fuel. On a dyno he would make less hp with 110 than if he ran 100.

No reason to run the stuff unless he running a Hi-Comp piston. Some people will run a mixed version of the stuff depending on their elevation.

Cant beat that smell. I think only good bbq when your hungry could top it.
