Allright here is the problem I was plowing snow last weekend using my winch quite a bit to lift and lower the plow blade after a few minutes of using the winch and blade together the winch would automatically retract without me pushing the in or out button on the control switch once the winch retracted fully and the blade was all the way up the winch motor would keep turning you could here it running over the quad engine.

I shut the quad off with the run switch and the key, once I had turned everything off the quad would continue to motor not running with the switch and key both off.

I had to disconnect the power wire off of my battery that goes to the winch relay to shut the motoring off.

I left the relay power wire disconnected from the battery and the quad starts and runs just fine.

I wired the the winch in with the diagrams that were sent with the winch from the factory.

Please help I am lost on this one!!!!!

 

The switch must have over-heated and got the contacts stuck together.

 

did you get a new switch yet?

 

Also check the poles of the switch with an ohmeter. If it doesn't read open, that's your problem
