Default Eiger Shifting Hard

I have an 05 eiger with the 5 sp. trans. My problem is that the shifter seems to hang up every once in awhile and doesnt want to shift into the next higher gear very smoothly. Im not sure how to go about adjusting the clutch on this bike so I could use a little help. Does it sound like I'm on the right track? Thanks

it won't shift at all to the next gear? or is just hard? Does it do it when hot or cold?

Sometimes mine will do this too. I think you could modify the star wheel (part that the shifter uses to stay in a defined gear) but that would require some internal work. I tried synthetic oil and it helped quite a bit, but it will still do it from time to time. Try some synthetic oil in the bike to see if that helps.

I have an 04 5 speed and mine does the same.

I always thought that without a clutch, it would just do that some times. The gears have to line up. Mine only does it if I am pushing it, high RPMs and then try to shift or when under a load, like up a big hill, or though a mud hole.

Usually if I poke the throttle to even out the RPMs it shifts.

I would prefer a manual clutch to eliminate this problem. I am not aware of a 4 wheel drive that has manual shifter and clutch.

I like having full control.

I plan on looking at a CVT clutch for the next bike, since full manual is not an option with a 4x4 ATV.
