ltr exhaust
#1
I just got a 08 ltr and im not sure what exhaust would be best. I want to get a full system. Ive looked at yosh. but the hp was only 3 more than stock. Ive also looked at DMC and Trinity and Alba. dmc and alba was putting out 49 hp, while trinity hit 51. (stock 43) (yosh 46)

This is from HMF's website:
HMF dyno and track testing has shown that by removing or modifying the air box lid, accessing the "race map" by using the HMF MAP KEY (or similar) you can expect these horsepower gains:
HMF SLIP ON: 11.0 HORSEPOWER OVER STOCK.
HMF FULL SYSTEM: 12.5 HORSEPOWER OVER STOCK.
HMF testing also shows that when using the "race map", the air box lid off and our slip on/system that recalibration of the air fuel ratio is NOT NEEDED.
NOTE: You MUST use the "race map", using the HMF MAP KEY or similar device is MANDATORY.
We did extensive track testing using a wideband data logger which records the AFR while running under different loads and conditions.
Testing was done in different gears and throttle positions on an MX track and a 250 foot long 40 degree angle hill climb course.
During these tests ("race map" airbox lid off and HMF slip on / system) the AFR remained in a safe range.
NOTE: The HMF MAP KEY is a plug in device that "tells" the stock ECM to use the "race map" it plugs into the stock wire harness in seconds, it gives you 500 more top end RPM, changes the fuel curve and timing.
NOTE: IF you DO NOT use the "race map" you run the risk of improper air fuel ratios which can lead to higher than normal internal exhaust temperatures. These high internal temperatures could cause premature failures.
NOTE: IF you plan on adding: high compression piston, big bore kit, camshaft or live in an unstable atmospheric condition area then we SUGGEST that you get the HMF OPTIMIZER EFI TUNER so that you can adjust the AFR for changing conditions.
The "HMF Map Key" is basically another version of the Cherry Bomb. Some of the HP claims you hear are just the pipe itself while others are with a Cherry Bomb or similar device. To me it doesn't make sense because the way I understand is if you pipe it, slip on of full system, you should be installing the CB or "map key".
Hope all that helped.
