Default Where is the oil filter?

Can someone please direct me toward the oil filter on a 95kq300? I have just ordered two off of ebay and will need to change it soon. Also, any special oil I should be using? SAE 10-40 is what it says on the cap, but what brand would you suggest?

Have you seen the filter? is it a paper style? I don't know the KQ300, but often the filter is located behind a cover with 3 small bolts holding it on, right side of engine. careful when you remove as there is a spring. also, note direction of filter hole, PLUS, there should be an o-ring inside, plus on the filter cover when you remove it.

As for oil, due to wet clutch system used by most atvs, oils with friction modifiers designed for cars should NOT be used. avoid regular car type motor oil, and get a motorcycle or ATV specific oil.

Found it. It is behind a cover right below and toward the front of the oil window. Looks like an easy change. Trail and error baby!!!
