'04 LTZ250 - whats it worth?

well done! sometimes when someone shows up with $$ and truck, it's an indication to the seller that the buyer wants the item too, so they'll try to squeeze you aswell. and then some sellers are plain stupid in their unrealistic expectations, and you can't hammer any sense into them. I'll often avoid the over-priced stuff altogether, cuz I suspect a moron on the other end. I try to price in the low/reality zone for a quick sale. Actually, I usually seat a fair price RELATIVE TO THE CONDITION, and then just state a FIRM price. Saves the negotiating.

I'm with you on the selling side. I've sold many items but more recently I priced lower and did no or very little negotiation from the asking price. My thinking is that if you say 'no, it's priced at $xxx because it's worth $xxx', then that adds credibility to the sale. If you immediatey come down from the asking price it may indicate to the buyer that you had it way overpriced in the first place and were trying to dupe them.

AND, you generally sell it quicker cuz it's priced right from the beginning. who wants a bunch of potential B&E artists casing your place under the guise they're there to buy your used item?? (I know, I'm paranoid).
