Default 26" tires on Eiger = clutch issue for auto?

Finally geting serious about installing some new tires on my Eiger. I noticed quite a few are running 26" tires on their Eigers How's the clutch handling the bigger tires? Any diff regarding clutch impact for auto vs manual?

You'll take off slower and lose a little steam going up hills unless you do a clutch kit. Put that in and it's nothing but grinning from ear to ear!

I hope there's not too much power loss!! I have 27" gators ordered for my '03 manual shift, and it will be a while before I can put in a clutch.

I wouldn't think it's as noticeable w/ a manual.

LL, Is the kit needed due to the increased tire size or weight? I.E., if I stay with 25" tires but go with a heavier tire such as IT589 will I need a kit? Where did you buy your kit? Thanks for the feedback.

I would think it's a combination of the size and weight. Probably less noticeable if you went with the 25", but it's only about $80 for the kit so I would do it even if I was running stock tires for the extra grunt.
I bought it direct from EPI (Erlandson Performance). There's a good post or two about building your own spring compression tool on here, though I used a neighbors press to do it.

I have the 26" gators on mine and I noticed a diffrence, when I did the tires I also put my pipe on and jeted it on the dyno. Like it has been said it is a little slower but not much, I didn't buy the eiger for speed either. If you haven't put a pipe on and jetted you might want to, just my opinion.
