i drove the lt 250r today and the frame was great but it seemed like it had a miss in it or something but it also hasn't been ran that much he said but what do you think it acted like it didn't have that much get up and go but were i was riding it i could only get to 3rd gear and let off what do you think all replies greatly appreciated

 

What year model is it?? I have seen a '92 model that didn't seem to have the same punch as mine did, so I helped the fella tear it down. It was obvious that the exhaust power valve wasn't operating. That was a simple fix, but if the one you have is an '85 - '86 model it could be several things. First, do a compression check, also check the condition of the reeds, how is the jetting?? Several factors come into play, so do alot of troubleshooting, starting with the simpler things first, like checking the plug. Also, how long has the quad been sitting up? It could be just bad gas. It's too hard to pinpoint your problem without more info.
