LT 500R

Default LT 500R

i am getting ready to take frame to weld shop to get a crack fixed by right foot peg is there any other spots that are weak that i need to have looked at or have any of you had gussets put in and where so i dont have to worry about this after i get it powder coated thanks

I would gusset all the joints on the entire frame if I was in your situation. Ive had 2 LT500Rs one the frame was perfect, I didnt do anything becuase I dont get big air and it was allready powdercoated. The other was cracked at every joint there was and a few other places like where the rear brake master cylinder bolts up.

so far i found around 17 small ones it seemed like every time i looked hard enough i found 1 they were in every corner almost by front shocke foot peg under gas tank back by exhaust everywhere didnt know it was this bad but it really isnt thanks for your time buy the way i am getting another one may 1 it should be here this one is the original one that suzuki owned and they took it all around the country in shows it is #23 off the production line and the first 22 suzuki tested them and destroyed them it has papers and posters of it i cant wait soon as i get it i will post pictures you have helped me alot thanks abunch

Default LT 500R

Thats pretty cool, if I had that one Id probably hang on to it forever. The one with the bad frame was just some old Zilla I got for 500$ cause the frame was in bad shape and they couldnt make it run. The other was pretty nice though. It was an 87 with the 87 cylinder with the big intake, so fast I couldnt keep it under control in the woods. Was all powder coated, polished and had a near new set of OEM plastics with decals and all. Aside from the black frame and a few visible mods it looked brand new. I think we spent nearly as much time looking at it and admiring the shinyness as I did riding it.
