banshee vs. lt250r
#1
hey, my question is who would win in a drag race between my friends stock banshee and my 86lt250r, it has: boyeson reed, fmf pipe and silencer, wiseco piston kit, and uni air filter. We will race on dirt and then on pavement. We are are about the same in riding experience. the race will be 100yds, then 200yds, then 300 yds. If anybody can tell me who you think will win or any other info thanks

to be honest, in these races( on dirt & pavement) it comes down to who can 'hook-up'(get traction) better, rider weight(F=MA, basic physics), tuning, and gearing.
i found that my friend's '86 LT250r felt stonger in an area on graded hard pack dirt & gravel than my '91, only because i coudn't get mine to 'hook-up' i had too much power for the situation, as soon as i'd get into the power band it was mostly wheelspin, no matter what gear i had it in.
in sand (where more wheelspin is good), on comp hill @ florence OR, my modded lt250r can beat the stock banshees by a little, but not the modded & tuned ones. it stays well with heavily modded 250r hondas in any situation. but my friends '86 has no chance in either of these situations

well i raced my friend yesterday and when we raced on the pavement we both hooked up good but i got the holeshot and won the 100 and 200yd races but he won the 300 yd by about 1 1/2 quad length. But for on the dirt i won all 3 because i really hooked up and took off but in all the races i won the most by 5 lengths and won the shortest by 1 lengths. For DAVEVATO, i guess this time the "dog" walked the banshee, too bad

talking trash gets you nowhere with me sandracer.
at least i keep up on the maintenence on my machine.
the only time i've been to parkers was to get parts for your turd & i needed to go get some food in town. how many times have i shown up & on the first day, you have a rag stuffed in the cases! you can't even make it down a trail w/o that muffler falling off, the only reason i'm behind you is 'cause i'm picking up parts from yours if i can find them in the sand....and then, there's jim's 250r that blew the tranny through a sidecase, for goodness sake, he can't unload the thing w/o blowing a tire, an engine, or axle bearings. need i talk about his banshee? 510, errr i mean 470, err i mean 390... errrr ummm, stock, not tuned, it's too humid for it here.... okay, sure, whatever!
BTW i never raced any mojaves, much less yours! your lucky if that thing starts, or doesn't blow out a shock daily... it can't even start up a hill w/o having to turn around & make another run or three, everybody looks real funny at ya when your on that frankenstien thing ya know....
the truth is you bring two quads down to the dunes cause you can't keep either one running all day.... what turds, i know you stay up all night just trying to bailing-wire & duct tape them things together again....no wonder your always tired, & taking naps.
the last 250R you sold, you could shake the front wheels up & down & they'd rattle, the ball joints were so loose on it... the thing was a clapped-out piece-o-poo. who did you pawn that thing off on anyway?
75 hp huh? umm, jim, how many engines do you plan to go through in a week?

dude, ive ridden a stock 86 LT and a stock 88 banshee, on anything other than greased glass a banshee will runcircles around your old rotary valve motor. And the psi genisis 425 motors are quite reliable, and theyll beat the pants off of any modded LT, 250 or 500

not to get under your skin, but its an inside joke between him & i... we always talk trash in person.
BTW... there is a big difference between the power of a 85-86 LT motor & the newer ones 87-92.... especially modded.
how much does this genesis thing cost again?
