LT80 won't start

if you think water is getting in from washing it than maybe drain the carbs, in the past week ive seen posts just like this. Also next time you wash try not to use a powerful setting on your hose. (assuming you used a hose)
Update: after searching violently through the forums most people did everything but check compression. Including draining carbs, jetting, and many other things. So I would say check the compression it should be around 120 or so.

I found my fuel cut off switch at Napa. It is a Briggs and Straton universal fuel cut off switch that cost about three dollars. You have to shorten up the fuel hose a little to get it to fit without sticking out the side of the bike.
I don't use a pressure washer on my bikes, but I do use Simple Green as the first cleaner before soap and water. It may be "de-greasing" the starter to a certain extent causing it to bind.

I just do mild automotive soap & water and garden hose. Nothing too high of pressure, if I do that the kid sprays me with water, little $hit...
Now my son does spend about an hour cleaning it after we ride so could contribute I suppose, could dang near eat off that thing when he is done.
Stopping at Napa tonight to get that cut off switch then probably drain the bowl since I suppose it is drownding in fuel. Would make sense why at times it spits fuel out the tailpipe when going thru the ordeal of starting it after sitting a while.

Keep in mind too that when you transport the bike in a truck or on a trailer, the vacuum from the wind causing the bike to flood out. By keeping the added fuel switch off, this will prevent fuel to be sucked into the carb. This helped me out quite a bit. I also make sure to start the bike right after washing and let it run for a good while to dry it out. I also soak the bike in WD-40 or Silicon spray to keep it from rusting/corroding.

A little off topic, but it's interesting that I have a Lt80 with the following mods:
CT racing oil block off kit
ITP Holeshot MX6 tires front and back on ITP C series aluminum rims
Wheel spacer kits front and back
Pro Taper high rise bars
FMF Fatty pipe with expansion chamber
K@N air filter with outwears cover
Fuel line cut off valve
My neighbor (Yeah King K...that's you!) has a Lt80 that is stock besides aftermarket rear tire (same size as stock) and a wheel stud spacer kit.
What is interesting is that his bike is faster and has more torque. To me it's kinda stupid to have all these modifications and the only thing the modded bike does better is make noise! Lol! I would assume it needs jetted differently, but currently the modded bike runs just fine. It does not stumble or bog or anything like that. Interesting stuff man!

I would think that the little 80 is only really good for so much power, you must have too much bling on there with the wheels and tires... I agree you should get something with the mods unless like you said it needs to be jetted to take advantage of the mods.
I am going to keep it off topic a little then, how do you like the wheel spacers on there? I am thinking of getting them to keep that thing a little more stable for my son. Keeping him from trying to hit mud and powerslide in the corners doesn't work and I like to see him on 2 wheels only on his bike, not the wheeler... How long are the ones you have and any ill effects from them at all?

I love them. It adds a ton of stability and the bike even looks better. Only issues you may have is the front fenders rubbing on the tires at full turn. They are a little pricey, so If you can only get a pair of them (they are sold in pairs) I would put them on the front. It may look wierd but if the rear tires are wider than the front it causes the back end to push and makes it harder to turn. If you can, get them for all four wheels. They sell a few different types. My neighbor (you again King K... lol) got stud spacers that look kind of like individual lugs, and I have the ones that are machined from one solid piece. The solid ones are quite a bit heavier, but may be stronger overall. That being said, I've seen the ones on my neighbors take abuse from several adults popping wheelies (and going over the bars) and they held up just fine. Your call....
