Default Modifying a Foot Shifter

Has anyone modified a foot shifter to accomodate larger feet. Sounds stupid but I'd like any ideas for a toe/heel shift style like a motorcycle. I'm in central Canada and plow alot of snow in the winter and my boots won't fit under the toe shifter. I just bought a new 400 today and this is the only problem I foresee.

dont think the toe heel shifter would work cuz of the size of the foot pegs on a quad but you should be able to loosen the gear shifter retaining bolt and move it up a couple grooves to make it easier to slip your boot under it for winter riding then move it back down for spring summer and fall riding.

I saw a guy years ago on the trails who had a similar problem.... he had like size 16 feet or something and with boots it just would not work...... what he did was modify the shifter by removing the "nub" adding in a piece of steel to add about 3" of length to the shifter and then welded the nub back on to the new piece..... not a big deal for someone who knows how to weld and it seemed to work well enough for him on that old Husky 510 he was riding....

I would imagine any metal shop could do it for you pretty cheap....
