forgot to mention.. there is a bolt hole on the left side of the engine case in front of the pull cylinder.. that is where you find the TDC mark.. a "T" marks Top dead center use a mirror and a flashlight to see. As for the cam mark remove the rubber plug on the left side of the head it has 2 dash marks that should align with the gasket surface there. Then if you remove the 2 caps just make sure that both rockers are loose .. if they are not rotate then one full turn till both of the valves are closed...

Sorry if I got you confused any its 11pm and Im tired.

Well i took a look at this last night. I got it to the TDC useing the T mark and then cheeked the rockers to see if they was loose. They was not so i did what you said i rotated the motor and they was still tight. I could not get them loose so... I tryed to put a 00.2 feeler gauge and could not get it to fit in between the rockers. i didnt know what to do. So i put it back together... I will be needing to use this two weeks from now. Also If i try this again can i take the top part off to get to the rockers easyer?

If you take the rocker cover off the rockers are attached to it.. NO way to adjust with it off. If you line up with the "T" and both rockers are tights.. Try rotating the engine one complete rotation.. and check again.. You either need long feeler guages or take one and bend it so you can fish it under the rocker arm.. That was the hardest parts for me.

When the rockers are adjusted you can actaully reach in with your fingers and lmove them very slightly. IF that still didnt get them lined up you may need to pull the little rubber plug out of the rocker cover on the left side. There are marks there you can line up to verify it. If you have any more problems let me know.

You can PM your phone number if needed and I can try and work you though it if it comes down to it.

Ive had issues since I rebuilt mine as well,I reset the valves and it starts fine. But I cannot get it to idle right at all, carb has been done. I am convinced its a fuel pump issue every time i get idle set it either revs on its own or dies!! mines an 88 Its getting hard on the starter..

The choke moves on the handle bar just fine. I think the carb needs cleaned out and like you said the valves needs cheeked... The card Im not big on takeing carbs apart lol they dont like me much lol...
