Well, I don't have too much experience with the 250 (I'm a zilla owner) but from what few rides I have taken on them, they definently have a smoother more trail friendly power delivery than the trx. I will say the handling is great, they are extremly light and will put a big smile on your face in the tight stuff, you would be well advised to go buy some works shocks (Idon't know who else makes shocks for them anymore) for the front end before you go attacking big deep desert whoops. The 250r is a hands down better mxer in any state of tune, but for a fast trail and canyon carving quad I like the LT.

If you like to ride WFO then be mindful of the fuel you run, the old zuks are kind of picky the zilla won't even run right unless it gets to sip a bit of C12 in with the premix. I imagine the 250 is the same, word to the wise, very few people know haw to get dependable power out of these old 2smokies. I have done a little research on the matter and been disturbed with the lack of attention these things get.

really, my motor is stock, except for an RM style silencer, infact I just honed my cylinder and am putting in a stock size piston even after 20 years. Even in that state of tune it still makes a huge difference on race gas. As for trail runnig pump gas is fine and will even still hold it's own with all the 400s and predators and even the 450s if you can be quick with the clutch, but the old panger engines love the high test fuel. My 500 is quite formidable on the track and trail with just pump gas (which is great because I am too poor to buy race fuel at the moment) when I get the race fuel and 38:1 with high grade oil, I have yet to come across anything that will carve on the same level as my zilla be it in the tight nasty stuff or I am blowing through the desert washes with my buddies on their xr 650s (100+mph bikes mind you) not saying mine goes that fast but not too far off. they don't start to pull away till the gps reads about ninety.
