Default King Quad 300

Hopefully someone knows what my problem is. I have a 2000 king quad 300 and it will start, run perfect for about 10 seconds and then it sounds like it is missing every every other cycle, if I kill the engine and start it back up it will run perfect again for about 10 seconds and do the same thing.

I replaced the fuel pump, and spark plug but this wasn't the problem, I am stumped. Anyone had a similar problem?

Thanks.

Is the vent hose coming out of the gas cap blocked?

No, I did check that too. I disconnected the fuel line from the carb and started the engine, it had a good flow of gas so I don't think that is the problem. Once and awhile it will run perfectly but I can never tell when it will just stop and start the missing again.

Check the battery voltage when it is missing. My guess is tha the voltage regulator is NFG. When voltage reaches about 18v the cdi will start to cut out.
Hope this helps. Let us know.
