We recently got a 1986 SUZUKI LT 230. has run gr8. hubby took it hunting, brought it home, ran it around for a while, all was fine, since then it will not start. Will not fire. Nothing, changed the plug, everything looks fine. You can jumb kick it all day and nothing, before this it always fired in 1 or 2 kick starts.
Will not even start on a down hill roll.
HELP, not sure what has happened.
Hubby ordered a manuel on ebay, should be here next week.
any ideas, tips, would be wonderful.

well if this was mine the first thing that i would do is to take the spark plug out and check it for moisture, that normally will tell you that you are getting gas into the cylinder. then take the plug and clip back into the spark plug wire and place it against the motor or frame or somthing to ground out the plug. roll the motor over and watch the plug to see if you are getting any spark (a bright blue spark is what your looking for) if not then it could be any thing from a short in you plug wire, to your CDI box, or magneto. if it is getting spark, then put the plug back in the head and roll the motor over, try to see if you have a gassey smell and or check to see if theres gas dripping from the bowl on the carb. if so that means your flooding the motor. if thats the case shut the choke off and roll the motor for a minute and then after minute work the throttle open and close while rolling it over. if none that works and your still flooding it out that normally means the floats are stuck in the carb which means you need to remove the carb and clean it... if the plug is dry then you are not getting any gas into the cylinder. if thats the case i would start with shut off the gas (if possible) and removing the fuel line from the tank to the carb and the turn the gas on to make sure that you are getting gas out of the tank. if so then the only ext step would be to remove the carb and check it out and clean it and try it all over again... i hope some of this might help... im not a expert but i have work on a few quads before... lol and sorry about my spelling and grammer... well good luck and i hope some this might be of use to you

 

try to move the on off switch a couple of times mine once stuck on off and the switch broke so it looked like it was on on but it wasent i had some prety similar symptoms
