Zuki King Quad changed to Eiger?
#1
Well before i went over to the dealership near me to pick out my quad i only saw 700 King Quads? (or something like that) and the new Eiger 400, apparently its the replacement model for the old kind quad?
Whats the point? And whats up with the name switch? Were the eigers the original 600cc quads and the King Quad was the 400 and Suzuki just decided to change the names around?
I loved the king quad as a 400, and i loved its nice red color. I rode my Aunts 07 a couple weeks ago on some rough terrain and it went so smooth i couldve sworn i was floating. i havent ridden one of the new Eigers yet but its bugging me that they decided to change the name out of the blue. Is the overall design the same or did they tear the thing down and rebuild it from the ground up and slap eiger on the side?

hmm I think you've got things a little screwed up. A few years ago, the King Quad was a 700cc ATV, then there was the King Quad 450, which looked the same as the KQ 700 minus the pod light. Then the Eiger 400 which was a solid axle ATV. And lastly there was an Ozark 250 (and still is).
Now, for 2009, the have the KQ 750, w/ or w/o power steering; the KQ 500, w/ or w/o power steering; the KQ 450; the KQ 400 which is similar to the Eiger of the old days available w/ or w/o an auto tranny; and the Ozark 250 still unchanged.
And I can't stand the name switching either. I loved it when there was the Vinson, Eiger, Ozark, Twin Peaks, etc. Now that they're all King Quads its just weird. You'd think the KQ should be reserved for the top of the line vehicle or something. Just like Yamaha renamin everything Grizzly or Big Bear. I miss the Kodiak, Bruin and those names.
hopefully this clears stuff up for you. Check out the Suzuki site:

06 400 Eiger vs 09 400 KQ specs
